The future of one of our country’s most valuable resources, our public lands, is at risk. As the government rolls back protections placed on public land in the interest of big business, such as oil and mining, sacred native lands, national monuments, and vast expanses of the natural environment are threatened. Bears Ears National Monument in Utah, Boundary Waters Wilderness in Minnesota, and Alaska’s Arctic National Wildlife Refuge represent just a few of the 640 million acres of public land in jeopardy. Public Trust introduces us to some of the individuals fighting to protect this land and serves as a wake up call to environmentalists everywhere that our country’s public land is not to be taken for granted.
